Myself and one other are extraction large octahedral pyrite crystals up to 30 cm so far from an abandoned mine near Brockville, ON. I want to inquire whether or not your museum would be interested in acquiring one? If so we would be interested in hearing from you. A picture can be sent if requested.

    Hello,

I am in possession of a “Society of Arts Best Guinea Set of Blowpipe Apparatus” manufactured by J T Letcher in Truro, Cornwall in about 1880. It was used by explorers and prospectors to analyze minerals in the field, specifically in Australia. It appears that all parts, of which there are 42, are present. It is in its original wooden box with label inside the lid.

I am wondering if the Bancroft Mineral Museum would be interested in having this for its collection of items related to mining. If so I will happily donate it.

    Sincerely,

    Janet Elder
