A 2021 commenter suggested checking current hours directly for Princess Sodalite Mine, the Beryl Pit and the Miner’s Loop.
Historical suggestion from 2021; it does not establish that any site is currently open. Current AI research could not verify a complete owner-authorized open-site list. Check Hastings County’s current recreational-geology guidance and contact each operator or landowner before visiting or collecting.

A 2026 commenter reported that Dark Star Crystal Mines offered fee-based digging at several claims near Bear Lake and listed darkstarcrystalmines.org for details.
The operator’s website was active when checked July 21, 2026 and described guided, fee-based collecting. This is an operator-provided claim, not an independent endorsement. Confirm current bookings, location, fees, access and safety requirements directly before travelling.
