Get Ready! Canada Day 2025 is Just Around the Corner!
Get ready to break out the red and white! Canada Day is quickly approaching, falling this year on Tuesday, July 1st, 2025. As Canada’s national holiday, it’s a time when communities across the country, including our own here in Bancroft, come together to celebrate our nation’s history, culture, and achievements.
Why Do We Celebrate?
Canada Day commemorates a pivotal moment in our country’s history: the anniversary of the Constitution Act, 1867. On this day, the Dominion of Canada was formed by uniting three separate colonies – the Province of Canada (which became Ontario and Quebec), Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick – into a single entity within the British Empire. Originally known as Dominion Day, the name was officially changed to Canada Day in 1982. It’s essentially Canada’s birthday, a day to reflect on our journey and show our national pride.
Show Your Canadian Pride!
Want to get ready for the celebrations? Whether you’re hosting a backyard BBQ, heading to a community event, or just want to show your spirit, there are plenty of ways to embrace the red and white theme. If you’re looking for some festive gear, you can find a great selection online.
