BANCROFT AND AREA HISTORY
Bancroft is a place rich in history. There are still remnants of its past such as the church on Old L’Amable Road, the abandoned buildings scattering the country side, and even the old rock piles in fields that farmers once painstakingly cleared by hand.
Discover the rich past of Bancroft, Barry’s Bay, Coe Hill, Combermere, Killaloe, L’Amable, Madawaska, and Whitney.
We will continue to update this section with information and photographs.

Hi there. My 83 yr old mother was part of the first group of teachers at the Cardiff school. She has a few old photos from the 1950s that she wants to possibly donate. We plan to visit the area this summer, stay at a local place, and visit her old stomping grounds. Could you please contact me asap as we would like to book a weekday stay there. Thank you so much.
